February 12, 2009Matt No Comments »It’s great to see a boss pointing these things out to the employees. Sure, a cash handout is great, but ongoing work is much better.
Have a read of the letter that this employer sent to his employees here.
As a small business owner, I agree with this email entirely, even though I only employ one person besides myself, and they are on a contract basis, I can see myself the problems that other business owners face. I regularly deal with others that employ more people than I do and they are all experiencing these problems.
Labor need to get with the program, the stimulus package that was rejected today may create temporary jobs, and yeah, much of the infrastructure work is needed, but we need to be looking to the future and maintaining jobs for the long term.
Australia’s economy is made up of small and medium businesses, according to a Microsoft rep I spoke to a couple of months ago in Brisbane, there are only two companies in Australia that they consider to be enterprise level customers. Everyone else fits into the small and medium business category.
So why aren’t we stimulating the small and medium businesses Mr Rudd?
