Ah the first day back at uni for the year.
It ended up being a great day. I just had two lectures today, KKB101: Creative Industries - People and Practices and ITB001: Problem Solving and Programming.
Yes, they are both first year subjects. ITB001 is regularly a second year subject in double degree’s, KKB101 I was supposed to do last year, but I actually did KIB103 by mistake, it’s actually a second year subject in my double degree, though a first year subject in Communication Design.
Anyway, in doing this it is first year subject, it’s actually kind of interesting. It’s the biggest class I’ve ever been in, with 1,500 students, that’s more than my entire high school at Lismore High. It’s split up over a couple of lecture theatres with video conferencing between them which is pretty cool.
At the end of the KKB101 lecture, I ran into a girl I did art with at school as well and haven’t seen in a year which is pretty cool, I’m pretty sure I saw another girl from my art class as well, I got snobbed though, so maybe not.
What else happened?
Well, today and tomorrow are/were market day’s at QUT, interestingly enough, there was no presence from Red Bull. Red Bull have had a presence with free stuff at pretty much every event at QUT in the past year.
There was however a stall from Coles advertising their Zu energy drink. They had to have given out hundreds of cans,they were the first stall setup, they were handing out free cans when I first got there this morning, while everyone else was still setting up, and they were still giving them out when I left in the afternoon. How awesome is that? I got two, one in each flavour. The Sublime is meant to be similar to V, with a lime flavour. The other, I don’t remember what it is called, and information about it on the net is extremely limited, but it is the purple can, is meant to be a mixed berry flavour and similar to Red Bull.
The Sublime is definitely a lot better than V. The other though is not as good as Red Bull, it is a quarter of the price though, and is still good.
So, free stuff is excellent. I think the worst part of the day was when the vending machine gave me Coke when I pressed the Solo button. Ah wells, lucky I like Coke anyway. Oh, I also got a blister on my ankle, but that’s my own fault for wearing short socks with new shoes.
